Camera-First Pick

The camera king - Gemini AI baked in. Buy it for the camera, not the hype.

Is it worth it in the UAE?

Buy this one specifically for the camera and Google's on-device AI features - Tensor chips have historically prioritised camera processing and software polish over raw gaming performance, and that tradeoff continues here. If gaming performance matters more to you than photography at this price, the Galaxy S26 or OnePlus 13R are the better match for similar money.

Should you buy it?

Buy it for the camera and the software, and buy it knowing you are not buying the fastest Android on this page. The Pixel is the phone you choose when photos and seven years of updates matter more than benchmark scores. If you play demanding games, or you want the quickest chip for your money, the OnePlus 13R costs less than half as much and will run them better.

What you actually get

The camera. A 50MP main, a 48MP 5x periscope and a 48MP ultrawide. The 5x reach at this price is the standout, and it is backed by Google's processing, which is still the thing that separates a Pixel photo from a phone with a bigger sensor. Worth knowing: the camera hardware largely carries over from the previous Pro, with the new work happening in software and a new AI-assisted long zoom.

The screen. 6.3in LTPO OLED at 120Hz, peaking at 3300 nits. That is brighter than the S26 Ultra on paper, in a much smaller body, and it is the best argument for this phone if you want a compact flagship rather than a slab.

The chip, honestly. Tensor G5 is a real step up from the previous generation for on-device AI and camera processing, which is what Google optimises it for. It is also clearly behind Snapdragon flagships in raw CPU and GPU benchmarks, and reviewers report it runs warmer and throttles sooner under sustained gaming. That is the trade you are making.

Battery. 4870 mAh with 30W wired charging. Reports vary more than usual here: some reviewers see four to five hours of screen time and finish the day comfortably, others find it merely adequate. Charging is slow next to the 80W and 100W Chinese rivals in the same table.

Software. Android 16 with up to seven major OS updates, and 16GB of RAM. Seven years of support on a phone this size is the quiet reason Pixels hold up.

Who it is for

The person who takes a lot of photos, wants a phone that fits one hand, and keeps a phone for four or five years. If that is you, the Pixel is the most sensible Android on this page. If you sort phones by frames per second, it is not.

The honest downsides

It is not the fastest phone at this price and it does not pretend to be. Charging is slow, it runs warm under load, and the chip trails its rivals in benchmarks by a margin that shows up in games rather than in daily use. None of that is hidden, and none of it matters much if you bought it for the camera. It becomes a problem only if you expected flagship gaming performance for flagship money.

Price and value in the UAE

Around 3,700 AED, which puts it between the Galaxy S26 and the S26 Ultra. Judged on hardware alone that is not obviously good value, because the Ultra gives you more screen, more battery and a faster chip in the same bracket. Judged on photography it is the better buy, and judged on how long it will keep getting updates it is level with Samsung and ahead of most of the rest. Buy it deliberately for those two reasons rather than as a general-purpose flagship.

Pros

  • Best point-and-shoot camera on this page, especially at 5x
  • 3300 nit screen, the brightest here, in a compact 6.3in body
  • Seven years of OS updates
  • 16GB of RAM as standard

Cons

  • Tensor G5 trails Snapdragon rivals in CPU and GPU benchmarks
  • Runs warm and throttles sooner under sustained gaming
  • 30W charging is slow next to rivals at half the price
  • Battery reports are mixed rather than uniformly good
