Android Flagship

The biggest and baddest Android of 2026. ⚠️ Repeated owner reports of a screen flaw Samsung has been slow to fix - check the exact unit before paying.

Is it worth it in the UAE?

The biggest, most feature-loaded Android on this page, for buyers who specifically want the larger screen and S Pen. Given the owner-reported screen issue noted above, it's worth buying from a retailer with a clear UAE return and warranty policy and inspecting the unit before final payment. If you don't need the extra screen real estate, the standard Galaxy S26 avoids that specific risk for less money.

Should you buy it?

Buy it if you want the most capable Android phone sold in the UAE and you will genuinely use the big screen, the S Pen or the 5x zoom. Skip it if you mainly want a great phone for less money, because the Galaxy S26 below it does 90% of this for over a thousand dirhams less. There is one thing to check in person before you pay, covered further down.

What you actually get

The screen. A 6.9in LTPO AMOLED at 120Hz that peaks at 2600 nits. That brightness figure is the one that matters here: this is a phone you can still read at noon in a Dubai summer, which is not true of most mid-range panels. It is protected by Gorilla Armor 2 with an anti-reflective coating, so it picks up noticeably less glare than the usual flagship slab.

The camera. A 200MP main sensor, a 3x telephoto, a 5x periscope and a 120 degree ultrawide. The 5x is the reason to buy this over cheaper phones. Most flagships stop at 3x and then crop, and the difference shows the moment you photograph anything across a room or down a street. Video goes to 8K, though 4K at 120fps is the setting you will actually use.

Performance and software. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB to 1TB of storage with no card slot, so buy the capacity you need up front. Samsung commits to seven major Android updates, which means a phone bought now is still getting OS upgrades well into the 2030s. That matters more to the resale value than any benchmark.

Living with it. It is 214g and 7.9mm. That is heavy, and you will notice it in a pocket. IP68 and an eSIM-friendly tray round it out.

Who it is for

The buyer who takes a lot of photos at distance, writes or draws with the S Pen, or simply wants the largest, brightest screen available and does not mind paying for it. If you are choosing between this and the S26 purely on spec sheets, the honest answer is that the zoom and the screen size are what you are paying extra for. Everything else is close.

One thing to check before you pay

A group of owners report that text on this panel looks soft, and some describe eye strain or headaches after long sessions. It is tied to the Privacy Display feature, which disables part of the pixel structure, though some say they notice it with the feature switched off too. Samsung has confirmed the panel is 8-bit rather than the higher-spec part some buyers expected.

It is not universal. Across published owner reviews more people report no issue than report one. But it costs you nothing to check: pull up a page of small black text on white, in and out of privacy mode, and look at it for a minute rather than ten seconds. Plenty of UAE retailers have units on display. If you order online, confirm the returns window first.

Price and value in the UAE

Expect roughly 3,200 to 3205 AED depending on storage, colour and where you shop. That is a very wide spread for one phone, and it moves with sales, so it genuinely pays to compare before committing. At the bottom of that range it is good value for what it is. At the top you are close to iPhone 17 Pro Max money, and that is a different conversation.

We have not tested this phone ourselves. The above is drawn from its published specifications and from owner reporting, linked so you can read it directly.

Pros

  • 2600 nit screen stays readable in full UAE daylight
  • 5x periscope zoom that cheaper flagships cannot match
  • Seven years of OS updates protects resale value
  • S Pen support and IP68

Cons

  • Some owners report soft text and eye strain, so check a unit first
  • 214g is genuinely heavy
  • No card slot, so pay for storage up front
  • The S26 gets you most of the experience for far less
