Is it worth it in the UAE?

The same phone as the standard OnePlus 13R above, just with more RAM and double the storage - worth the price difference if you shoot a lot of video or never want to think about storage space. If 256GB is enough for how you actually use a phone, the standard 13R gets you the same core experience for less.

Is the upgrade worth it?

This is the same phone as the standard OnePlus 13R, with 16GB of RAM instead of 12GB and 512GB of storage instead of 256GB. Same screen, same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, same 6000 mAh battery, same 80W charging, same cameras. Everything we say in the full 13R review applies here unchanged.

The only question is whether the difference is worth roughly 1639 AED, and for most people the answer is yes. That is a small premium for double the storage on a phone with no card slot, which means the 256GB model is the capacity you are stuck with for the life of the device. If you shoot video, keep a lot of games installed, or have ever deleted photos to make room, take the larger one.

When the standard model is the better buy

If you keep your phone tidy, stream rather than download, and 256GB has been plenty on your current device, save the money. The extra 4GB of RAM makes no practical difference in daily use on a phone that already has 12GB. This is a storage upgrade, not a performance one, and it should not be sold to you as the latter.

Price and value in the UAE

Around 1,638 AED against roughly 1,550 AED for the 256GB version. Both discount frequently, and the two do not always move together, so check the pair on the day. It is not unusual for the gap to narrow to almost nothing during a sale, at which point the larger model is the obvious pick, or to widen enough that the standard version is the better value.
