Apple FlagshipIf you're in the Apple ecosystem, this is the only answer - and the current consensus is buy it now rather than wait for the next cycle.
Before you buy this one
The iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max opened for preorder on 12 September and reach stores on 18 September, starting at AED 5,099. This page covers the outgoing model, which now sits only a few hundred dirhams below the new one. If you are not buying this week, read every new iPhone for 2026 first.
Is it worth it in the UAE?
The pick for buyers already inside the Apple ecosystem (iMessage, AirDrop, an Apple Watch or Mac to sync with), or who specifically value the longest software-update runway on this list. At roughly 4,566 AED it's the most expensive phone here, so it mainly makes sense if ecosystem lock-in or resale value (iPhones tend to hold value better than Android in the UAE resale market) actually matters to you - otherwise the Galaxy S26 or Pixel 10 Pro cover similar day-to-day performance for less.
Should you buy it?
Buy it if you are inside the Apple ecosystem and you want the phone to last two days rather than one. Battery life is the headline improvement this generation and it is not a marginal one. Skip it if you are coming from a recent Pro Max, because the year-on-year jump is small for the money, and skip it if the 233g weight bothers you, because it will not stop bothering you.
What you actually get
Battery. This is the reason to buy it. A 5088 mAh cell in the eSIM model, and extended real-world testing puts it ahead of anything else on the market, not just ahead of previous iPhones. If you have spent years topping up at lunchtime, that habit goes away.
The screen. 6.9in Super Retina XDR at 120Hz, peaking at 3000 nits. That is the brightest panel on this page, which in practice means it is the one you can still read on a Dubai street at midday without shading it with your hand.
The camera. A 48MP main, a 48MP 4x periscope and a 48MP ultrawide, plus LiDAR. Three 48MP sensors rather than one good one and two passengers, so the ultrawide and the zoom hold up when you crop. The 4x reach is the practical upgrade over cheaper phones.
Performance and heat. The A19 Pro with 12GB of RAM, and a vapour chamber to keep it from throttling. Sustained performance is the real change: it holds its speed under long loads instead of tailing off, and owners coming from older iPhones report the heat problem is gone.
Living with it. 233g and 8.8mm, on an aluminium chassis with a large camera plateau. It is the heaviest phone on this page by a clear margin, and the redesign divides people. Storage runs 256GB to 2TB with no card slot, so buy the capacity you need up front.
Who it is for
Anyone already on iOS who is upgrading from an iPhone that is two or more years old. That buyer gets a genuinely different phone: far better battery, much better sustained performance, real zoom. If you are on last year's Pro Max, the honest advice is to wait.
The honest downsides
It is expensive, and reviewers have been consistent that the improvements are incremental for anyone on a recent Pro Max. Apple is also still behind its Android rivals on AI features, which matters more each year. And the new aluminium body with the camera plateau has had a mixed reception, with some finding it bulkier and less premium in the hand than the older design.

Price and value in the UAE
Around 4,566 AED at the time of writing, which makes it the most expensive phone we recommend. Against the Galaxy S26 Ultra it costs more and weighs more, and the honest split is ecosystem rather than hardware: if your laptop, watch and earbuds are Apple, this is the only sensible answer, and if they are not, the Ultra gets you a comparable phone for less. Storage tiers add up fast here, so decide between 256GB and 512GB before you shop rather than at the checkout.
Pros
- The longest battery life of any phone on this page, by a wide margin
- 3000 nit screen, the brightest here, and readable in full UAE sun
- Three 48MP sensors, so the zoom and ultrawide hold up under a crop
- Vapour chamber cooling keeps performance steady under long loads
Cons
- The most expensive phone we recommend in the UAE
- 233g, noticeably the heaviest here
- A small upgrade if you already own a recent Pro Max
- Still behind Android rivals on AI features
