Redragon K552
Budget TKLA tenkeyless board with an aluminium top plate and clicky switches, for about a hundred dirhams.
The short version
Short answer: the cheapest mechanical keyboard on the site that is still worth owning, and it is built like a brick.
The build is the selling point
An aluminium top plate at this price is unusual, and it is why the board feels solid and stays planted on the desk instead of flexing under a heavy hand. Plenty of keyboards costing three times as much feel cheaper than this one.
The switches are loud
It ships with clicky switches, which produce a sharp audible click on every press. That is the point for some people and a dealbreaker for everyone sharing a room or a voice call with them. Buy it knowing that, because the switches are soldered in and cannot be swapped.
What you give up
Wired only, no hot swap, and a tenkeyless layout with no number pad. The keycaps are thin and will wear shiny over time, though replacing those is cheap and easy.
Who it suits
Buy it if you want your first mechanical keyboard and you are not yet sure you will like mechanical keyboards. At around 120 dirhams the question stops being financial. The aluminium plate also means it survives being moved around, which matters if the desk is shared or the machine travels.
Skip it if you share a room, a call or a flat with anyone. These switches are loud in the way that gets commented on, and no amount of desk mat softens that.
What to buy instead
The RK61 at 200 is smaller, wireless and hot swappable, which means you can change the switches when you decide the stock ones are wrong. The Aula F75 at 200 is the better typing board of the two for about the same money. If you know you want the good stuff, the Keychron K2 HE at 549 is a different class of product entirely.
Buying it in the UAE
Widely stocked and rarely out. Check the switch colour in the listing before ordering: the same model number ships with several switch types here, and the clicky variant is much louder than the linear one. If quiet matters at all, the listing text is the only place that tells you which one is in the box.
