Lenovo Legion 5
Flagship PickOLED + RTX 5060 + 32GB - the endgame pick without the endgame price.
The short version
Short answer: a 14-core i7, an RTX 5060 with 8GB of VRAM, 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and a WQXGA OLED panel. On specification this is the most complete laptop on the page. Check the current listed price before committing, because this configuration normally sits well above the budget tiers here.
Is it worth it in the UAE?
Every laptop above this one on the page is making a compromise you can name: not enough RAM, not enough VRAM, a dim screen, a small drive. This one is not. It is the first configuration here where the parts are matched to each other rather than to a price target, and it shows in every category at once.
Performance, realistically
The i7-13650HX is a 14-core HX-series chip, a full class above the H-series parts in the cheaper machines. HX means desktop-derived silicon with a higher power budget, and it behaves accordingly under sustained load.
The RTX 5060 with 8GB of VRAM is the meaningful upgrade. That extra VRAM over the 6GB cards is exactly what runs out first at high texture settings, so this is the first laptop here that is genuinely comfortable at 1440p rather than merely capable of it. Ray tracing becomes a real option rather than a slideshow.
32GB of DDR5 is double everything else here and removes memory as a consideration entirely, for gaming and for work. The 1TB NVMe drive is the correct size and the only one on this page that does not need supplementing within a month.
The screen, and why OLED changes things
15.1-inch WQXGA OLED at 120Hz, around 400 nits, 100% DCI-P3. This is a different category of display from every IPS panel above it. OLED gives you true black rather than dark grey, which changes how games and video look in a way spec sheets communicate badly. The DCI-P3 coverage means colour-accurate work is actually possible here, unlike anything else on this page.
The one trade is refresh rate: 120Hz rather than the 144Hz of the cheaper gaming laptops and the 165Hz of the i9 variant. For competitive esports that is a real if modest step down. For everything else, the panel quality wins comfortably.
Cooling and the climate
The Legion ColdFront system, dual fans with quad exhaust, is the most serious cooling on this page, and it needs to be with an HX processor inside. Lenovo has generally been good at this, and sustained performance is where the Legion line earns its reputation over cheaper machines that start fast and then quietly slow down.
The ~80Wh battery is the largest here, with 230W AC charging plus USB-C Power Delivery. That USB-C charging is genuinely useful: it will not run games, but it means light use away from the enormous power brick is possible.
Build and daily use
Roughly 2.4kg, 4-zone RGB backlighting, and a 1080p webcam, which is the first decent camera on this page after a long run of 720p sensors. Full ports including HDMI 2.1, Ethernet and four USB-A. Wi-Fi 6E rather than Wi-Fi 6. Still no Thunderbolt, which remains the one consistent omission across every laptop here.
Should you buy it?
Buy it if you want one machine that games at 1440p, handles creative work on a colour-accurate display, and has enough memory and storage to stay useful for years.
Do not buy it if you play competitive shooters above all else, where the 144Hz panels below cost far less, or if you only ever game at 1080p, where the TUF Gaming A15 does that job for a fraction of the money. The i9 variant adds a 165Hz 500-nit panel and a 24-core CPU for considerably more, and is worth comparing directly.
