Short answer: anti reflection glass is worth it in Dubai, because the problem outdoors in this country is rarely brightness and almost always reflection. For the S25 Ultra the coated option is AED 203, which is a lot for one sheet of glass. For the S26 Ultra the same idea starts at AED 53.99, and the sensible pick sits at AED 140 for two.

What the coating is actually doing

Walk outside in Dubai at two in the afternoon and look at your phone. The screen is usually bright enough. What you cannot read through is your own face, the sky, the car roof and whatever white building is behind you, all layered on top of the picture. That is reflection, and turning brightness up only fights it rather than fixing it.

An anti reflection coating attacks the reflection instead. It is a thin layer on the outer face of the glass that stops light bouncing straight back at you, so the mirror fades and the picture underneath comes through. The S25 Ultra listing claims close to 99 percent of reflections removed, which is a marketing number rather than a measurement you can repeat at home, but the effect is real and obvious the first time you take the phone into the sun.

This is not the same as the cheap matte film people buy for the same reason. A matte film works by roughening the surface so reflections scatter, and it scatters your display along with them. Text loses its edge and colours go flat. A coating keeps the screen sharp and takes the mirror away, which is why it costs more.

Galaxy S25 Ultra, AED 203

DOME AR anti reflection tempered glass for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

This is the one most S25 Ultra owners end up looking at, and it is a single sheet in the box at AED 203. That is the uncomfortable part of the recommendation, because plenty of perfectly good tempered glass for this phone sells for under AED 40. You are paying for the coating, not the glass.

The pitch is edge to edge coverage with a precise enough cut that the protector does not sit proud of the bezel and start lifting at a corner, which is the usual way a full coverage protector dies on a curved Samsung panel. It ships with an alignment tray, so fitting it is a press and slide job rather than a freehand attempt with your thumbs and a prayer.

The surface also carries an anti fingerprint treatment, which matters more than it sounds on a coated protector. Killing reflections makes smudges the next most visible thing on the screen, and a coating with no smudge resistance just trades one annoyance for another.

Galaxy S26 Ultra, from AED 53.99

EZ Fit Pro anti reflective tempered glass two pack for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

The newer phone has the better market, which is the opposite of what you would expect. There is no coated option from the same maker as the S25 Ultra pick, but there are several genuine anti reflection protectors for the S26 Ultra and they undercut it badly.

Our pick is the EZ Fit Pro anti reflective two pack at AED 140. Two sheets for less than the price of one on the older phone, an aluminium infused glass rated 10H plus for scratch resistance, and an auto align tray that does the positioning for you. The anti glare finish is the point, and the listing is explicit that it fits the S26 Ultra only and not the S26 or S26 Plus.

OrigArmor anti reflection screen protector for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

The alternative is the OrigArmor anti reflection glass at AED 130.48, and it is the more interesting product of the two. It is built at 0.23mm so the ultrasonic fingerprint reader keeps working through it, it claims a 12 foot shatterproof rating, and its installation kit is a covered tray designed to keep dust off the panel while you fit it. Same money as our pick, one sheet instead of two, with a stronger case on the fingerprint side.

If AED 130 is more than you want to spend on glass, there is a two pack anti reflective option at AED 53.99 that does the basic job. You give up the fancy alignment tray and the armour claims, and you keep the coating, which is the part you actually came for.

Side by side

S25 Ultra, AED 203. One sheet. Coated, edge to edge, anti fingerprint, alignment tray included. The only serious coated option for this phone, and priced like it knows that.

S26 Ultra, AED 140. Two sheets. Anti reflective, 10H plus aluminium infused glass, auto align tray. Best value on this list.

S26 Ultra, AED 130.48. One sheet. Anti reflection, 0.23mm for the fingerprint sensor, dust free fitting kit, 12 foot shatterproof claim.

S26 Ultra, AED 53.99. Two sheets. Anti reflective and little else. The budget way in.

Specifications

S25 Ultra coated glass. Single pack, tempered glass with a super anti reflection coating rated close to 99 percent, edge to edge fit designed to minimise bezel visibility and edge lifting, anti fingerprint surface, shatter resistant, installation tool in the box.

S26 Ultra EZ Fit Pro. Two pack, alumina silicate glass with aluminium infusion, 10H plus hardness, anti reflective matte finish, auto align installation kit, S26 Ultra only.

S26 Ultra OrigArmor. Single sheet, 0.23mm thickness, nano coated anti reflection layer, aerospace grade 9H plus glass, ultrasonic fingerprint compatible, 12 foot shatterproof claim, three step dust free installation kit.

Which one to buy

S26 Ultra owner, buy the EZ Fit Pro two pack at AED 140. You get a spare, the coating is the real thing, and the tray means the second sheet is there for the day you crack the first one rather than for the day you fumble the install.

S26 Ultra owner who lives by the fingerprint reader, buy the OrigArmor at AED 130.48. Same money, one sheet, but it is the one engineered thin enough that the sensor is not an afterthought. Expect to re register your fingerprint after fitting it.

S25 Ultra owner, the AED 203 sheet is the only coated game in town. We would still buy it if you spend real time outdoors with the phone, because nothing else for this model does what it does. If your phone mostly lives indoors, this is an easy purchase to skip and a AED 35 clear protector will serve you better.

What we would not do is buy a coated protector expecting a brighter screen. It removes reflections. It does not add light, and on a phone left at half brightness in the sun you will still be squinting.

Questions people are asking

Does this actually help in UAE sunlight?
For reflections, yes, and the difference is visible immediately. It does not make the display brighter, so a phone on low brightness is still hard to read outside.

What does it cost here?
AED 203 for the S25 Ultra single pack. For the S26 Ultra, from AED 53.99 for a two pack up to about AED 140 for the better kits. All were in stock on Amazon.ae when we checked.

Will it break the fingerprint sensor?
Not on these. Each states ultrasonic fingerprint compatibility and one is built at 0.23mm for exactly that reason. Plan on re registering your fingerprint after fitting.

Is a matte film the same thing?
No. Matte roughens the surface and softens your display along with the reflections. A coating leaves the picture sharp.

Can I use an S25 Ultra protector on an S26 Ultra?
No. The listings are model specific, and the S26 Ultra glass here does not fit the S26 or S26 Plus either. Buy for the exact phone.
