Where to Buy a Nintendo Switch 2 in the UAE | Regions, Warranty and Real Prices
Short answer: buy the UAE version at AED 1,915. The international import saves you AED 125 on the base console and about AED 200 on the Mario Kart bundle. There is no version of this decision where that saving is worth giving up a local warranty on a device you will own for years.
What the region actually changes
This is where most of the confusion comes from, so it is worth being precise. On this console, only the Japanese hardware is genuinely restricted, and the restriction is on the system language rather than on which games you can play. Every other regional variant plays the same games from the same store. An account set up in one country can still buy and download normally.
So a listing described as an international version is not selling you a crippled machine. What it is selling you is a unit that entered the country outside the official distribution chain, which changes two practical things.
- Warranty. The manufacturer's UAE warranty is tied to the officially imported stock. If a grey import fails, you are relying on the seller's own returns policy, which in practice is thinner than it looks in the listing.
- The plug. An import ships with whatever plug its origin market uses, so you may be running the console off an adapter permanently. Minor, but it is the kind of thing nobody mentions until the box is open.
If you are visiting the country rather than living here, both of those concerns largely evaporate. A UAE warranty will not follow you home anyway, and you will be packing an adapter regardless. Visitors are the one group for whom the import genuinely makes sense.

The prices, checked again on 3 October
Every price below was read from its own listing on the morning of 25 September, with the two Mario Kart World bundles rechecked on 3 October.
- Console, international version, AED 1,790, in stock.
- Console, UAE version with one year manufacturer warranty, AED 1,915, in stock.
- Console with Mario Kart World, UAE version with warranty, AED 2,194.98, only a few left.
- Console with Mario Kart World, international version, AED 1,995, in stock.
- Console with Pokopia, AED 2,030, in stock.
- Console with Hades II Collector Edition, AED 2,002, last unit showing.
- Console with a Fortnite bundle, AED 2,049, only a few left.
- Console with Pokemon Legends Z A, AED 2,081, only a few left.
Look at the two Mario Kart bundles. The warranty backed UAE version is now AED 2,194.98 against AED 1,995 for the grey import of the same bundle, a gap of about AED 200. That puts the bundle back in line with the base console: the import is cheaper either way, and the question is only ever whether the saving is worth the warranty.
What buyers here are actually running into
Local players raise the same handful of points repeatedly, and they line up with what the listings show.
The strongest recommendation is to buy from an authorised seller so that the unit you receive is the properly imported one. The counterargument, that the official channel charges a premium worth roughly AED 200, was accurate when the comparison was against a physical store. Against the listings above it is AED 125 on the base console and about AED 200 on a bundle.
Two warnings come up often enough to repeat. First, official retail pricing rose at the start of September, so any figure you remember from earlier in the year is stale. Second, walk in for a console and you may be steered toward a bundle padded with cases and accessories at a markup. If you want the base machine, say so and hold the line.
There is also community chatter about a special edition console arriving in late October. We could not find a listing for it anywhere on Amazon.ae, so treat the date as unconfirmed and do not delay a purchase on the strength of it.
Which one to buy
UAE version, AED 1,915

Living in the UAE: the UAE version at AED 1,915. The AED 125 you save on the import buys you nothing and costs you the warranty on a device with moving parts and a battery.
Mario Kart World bundle, AED 2,195

Want a game included: the Mario Kart World bundle at AED 2,195, which carries the warranty though it now costs about AED 200 more than the international version of the same bundle. The same logic as the base console applies: the warranty is worth more than the saving. Check the listing carefully before ordering, because some bundles supply the game as a download code rather than a cartridge, and a cartridge is the one you can lend, resell or keep.
International version, AED 1,790

Visiting and taking it home: the international version at AED 1,790. A local warranty is no use to you abroad, so this is the one case where the cheapest listing is also the right one. Avoid Japanese stock specifically, since that is the only variant with a language restriction baked in.
Our take
The region panic around this console is mostly misplaced. Outside of Japanese stock, your games will work. The real question is much more boring: do you want a warranty, and are you being charged extra for it? Right now the answer is that the warranty costs AED 125 on the base console and about AED 200 on the Mario Kart bundle. At that spread, there is no argument for the import unless you are getting on a plane with it.
