RAM Prices Are Climbing Again | 32GB Now Costs More Than Your Pride

August 25, 2026 · Memory market news · Last updated: September 2, 2026 · Written by the PCPartsUAE Editorial Team

Here's the bad news nobody wants: memory prices are on the rise. 32GB of DDR5-6000 has climbed to around $400 (call it 1,500+ AED), and 128GB kits are sitting at a frankly insulting $3,399. If you've been "waiting for prices to drop" like a patient fisherman - stop. The fish is gone, and the lake is on fire. Memory prices are climbing again. Your future upgrade just got more expensive - and your past one got smarter.

What's happening

The 2026 memory shortage is real and it's pushing DRAM prices up across the board. We've been tracking UAE listings: Adata XPG 32GB 6000 CL30 around 1,616 AED, Kingston Fury Beast around 1,775-2,009 AED, G.Skill Ripjaws M5 around 2,169 AED. Those prices are up significantly from the start of the year, and analysts expect the trend to continue through the rest of 2026.

What this means for UAE builders

RAM is one of the few components where UAE pricing tracks global prices closely - there's no "Dubai markup" cushion to soften the blow. If your build needs 32GB (and it does - see our RAM guide), buy now rather than waiting for a better deal. Waiting is a luxury you can no longer afford, financially or emotionally.

What to do

Our take

Memory shortages are cyclical - we've been here before, and prices eventually fall. The question is when, and "eventually" doesn't help you build a PC this month. Buy what you need now, skip what you don't, and keep an eye on the big sales. Your future self will thank present you - or curse you, depending on when you buy.

Who can ignore all of this

If your machine already has 32GB and runs what you run, you are done. A price rise does not make extra capacity useful if you were never short of it. Laptop buyers can largely tune out as well, since the memory is baked into the price of the machine and soldered down on most of them anyway. The people this genuinely hits are builders starting a new system this quarter, and anyone who bought 16GB last year and has started running into the ceiling.

How to buy memory here right now

Buy a matched kit rather than single sticks picked up weeks apart. Mixing modules is how people end up with a system that refuses to post at its rated speed, and in a rising market the same kit may not be listed later at a price you like. Read the speed and timings off the listing rather than the product name, because sellers on Amazon.ae stock several variants of one family under nearly identical titles and it is easy to order the slower one. Check the seller and the return window too. Finally, skip the premium for tall heatsinks and lighting if you run a large air cooler, since clearance problems are a boring and entirely avoidable way to lose money.

What would change our advice

A drop in listed UAE prices held across several consecutive weeks, not one discounted afternoon. Until that shows up, buying sooner costs less than buying later. The honest limit is that nobody, us included, knows when a memory cycle turns. This is the safer side of a bet, not a forecast, and if you buy today and prices fall in three months, that was always a possible outcome rather than a mistake.
