Mobile Mania on Amazon.ae | Which Phone Deals Are Actually Worth It
Amazon.ae ran a phone sale it called Mobile Mania from 24 to 30 September, headlined as up to 40 percent off, with trade in on your old handset and instalment payment available at checkout. The weeklong sale has since ended, so we went back and rechecked what these phones actually cost now.
We priced every phone in the promotion on the morning of 25 September, then rechecked the Motorola Edge 60 and the POCO F8 Ultra on 3 October once the sale was over. The short version: the headline number was real on exactly one model, most of the sale was single digit percentages dressed up as an event, and the phone on the promotional banner could not actually be bought.
The banner is advertising a phone that is not for sale
The artwork for this sale leads with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Search Amazon.ae for it and you get screen protectors and cases made for it, across 329 results, with no handset listing anywhere. The newest Galaxy Ultra you can actually put in a basket today is the S25 Ultra, and that is the one carrying the deep discount.
This matters because the discount is calculated against a list price, and a list price is not the same thing as what the phone has been selling for. Treat the percentage as marketing and look at the dirham figure instead.

What every phone in the sale actually costs
Live prices, checked 25 September. The saving column is against the listed reference price, which is the number the 40 percent claim is built on.
- Galaxy S25 Ultra 256GB, AED 2,699, down from AED 5,099. The one genuine flagship cut in the sale.
- Galaxy Z Fold7 256GB, AED 4,299, down from AED 7,599. Still the most expensive thing here by a wide margin.
- iPhone Air 256GB, AED 3,274, with no reference price shown against it.
- POCO F8 Ultra 16GB and 512GB, AED 2,699, down from AED 2,899.
- Xiaomi 17T 12GB and 256GB, AED 1,888, down from AED 2,399.
- Galaxy S25 FE 256GB, AED 1,923, down from AED 2,699.
- Galaxy A57 5G 256GB, AED 1,654, down from AED 2,159.
- POCO X8 Pro 12GB and 512GB, AED 1,549, down from AED 1,999.
- Motorola Edge 60 5G 512GB, AED 1,124, down from AED 1,248.
- Nothing Phone 3a Lite 5G, AED 799, down from AED 849.
- Moto G56 5G 256GB, AED 744, down from AED 799.
- Redmi Note 15 8GB and 256GB, AED 749, down from AED 759.
- Redmi 17 5G 4GB and 128GB, AED 639, down from AED 749.
Four of those are cuts of under ten percent. A 50 dirham reduction is not a sale event, it is a Tuesday.
The four worth buying
Galaxy S25 Ultra at AED 2,699, the only real flagship deal

Down from a listed AED 5,099, this is the single largest cut in the promotion and the only one where the headline percentage survives contact with the actual price. You get the 200MP camera, the stylus and a titanium frame for less than an iPhone Air costs in the same sale.
Owner feedback is consistently positive on the camera and the build. The two complaints that come up repeatedly are the physical size, which does not sit comfortably in a trouser pocket, and a battery that several owners consider undersized for a phone this large. One long term owner also warned about buying flagships through marketplaces at steep discounts because units can arrive pre activated, and recommended checking the warranty status in the maker's own app before accepting an open box delivery. That is sensible advice for any phone at this discount, not just this one.
We could not corroborate the display degradation problems that affected older models in this family. Nobody reporting on this generation raised it.
Galaxy S25 FE at AED 1,923, the sensible pick

Down from AED 2,699, and the best balance in the sale for anyone who does not need a stylus or a 200MP sensor. You keep the software support window and the general polish of the flagship line at two thirds off the Ultra's price. If you are replacing a phone that still works and you simply want something better, this is the one to look at first.
Motorola Edge 60 at AED 1,124, the value outlier

512GB of storage and 12GB of memory for just over a thousand dirhams, with an IP68 and IP69 rating and a 120Hz pOLED panel. Nothing else in this sale gave you half a terabyte at this price, though the price has moved up since the sale ended and the discount is now much smaller. If storage is what you keep running out of, this is still a sensible purchase.
Redmi 17 5G at AED 639, the cheap one that is not a compromise

A 7,500mAh battery is the headline and it is the right headline. At this price the usual trade off is a phone that dies by late afternoon, and this one will not. The 4GB of memory limits how much you can keep open at once, so treat it as a phone for calls, messaging and a couple of apps rather than a gaming device. Within that brief it is the best value in the sale.
The one to think twice about

The POCO X8 Pro is the phone sharing the promotional banner, at AED 1,549 reduced from AED 1,999, and it is the most divisive device in the sale. The most detailed owner review we found, after a month of daily use, rated it a worthwhile purchase and praised the metal build, the 4K 60fps video and a charge time of roughly 40 minutes from 10 percent to full. The same review was blunt about the weaknesses: an ultrawide camera that oversharpens and overexposes badly, software carrying advertising and preinstalled apps that need stripping out before the phone feels clean, and screen on time of five to six hours under gaming load.
Set against that, there is a steady run of owners reporting battery life they consider poor after two months, and a recurring argument that an older model in the same family remains the better phone. The gap between the enthusiastic reviews and the angry ones is wide enough that we would not spend AED 1,549 here when the Edge 60 is AED 1,124 and the S25 FE is AED 1,923.
Our take
Ignore the 40 percent. It applies to one phone, and the phone on the poster is not even purchasable. What this sale genuinely offers is an S25 Ultra at AED 2,699, which is a real flagship at an upper midrange price, and three lower cost phones that were decent value already and are now slightly better value. Everything else is a rounding error with a countdown timer attached.
If you are buying, buy the Ultra or buy the Edge 60. If neither of those is what you need, this sale is not the reason to replace your phone, and the week closing on 30 September will be followed by another one.
