Gaming PCs are expensive. But in the UAE, you don't have to pay 3,000-8,000 AED upfront. Here's how to split it.
Tabby
- How it works: Split any purchase into 4 equal payments over 6 weeks. First payment at checkout, then 3 more bi-weekly.
- Interest: Zero interest, zero fees - as long as you pay on time.
- Where to use: Amazon.ae, other UAE retailers, other UAE retailers Daily, many online retailers. Some physical stores too.
- Minimum: Usually 100 AED. No maximum for most purchases.
- Requirements: Valid UAE credit/debit card, Tabby app, credit check.
- Late fees: If you miss a payment, Tabby charges late fees. Pay on time = free.
Tamara
- How it works: Similar to Tabby - 4 payments over 6 weeks. Zero interest.
- Where to use: Amazon.ae, other UAE retailers, other UAE retailers Electronics, Lulu, and many more.
- Minimum: 50 AED.
- Requirements: UAE mobile number, debit/credit card, Tamara app.
- Pros: Slightly wider acceptance than Tabby in some physical stores.
- Cons: Same late fee risk if you miss payments.
Amazon.ae Installments
- How it works: Amazon offers its own installment plans on select products - typically 3-12 months.
- Interest: Some are 0% interest, others charge 1-3% monthly. Check at checkout.
- Where to use: Only on Amazon.ae, only on products marked "Installment eligible."
- Requirements: Valid UAE credit card, Amazon.ae account in good standing.
Which should you use
| Option | Best For | Interest | Stores |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tabby | Quick 4-way split | 0% (on time) | Amazon, other UAE retailers, online |
| Tamara | Quick 4-way split | 0% (on time) | Amazon, other UAE retailers, physical stores |
| Amazon Installments | Longer terms (6-12 months) | 0-3% monthly | Amazon.ae only |
Tips
- Buy during sales - Tabby/Tamara on White Friday deals = best of both worlds
- Don't overextend - if you can't afford the monthly payment, don't buy. Installments are convenience, not a budget hack.
- Set up auto-pay - the worst thing is forgetting a payment and getting hit with late fees.
- Check both apps - sometimes one has a promotion the other doesn't.
Honest take: 0% installments are great if you have the income to cover them. They let you get the build you want NOW instead of saving for 6 months. Just don't treat "split into 4" as "it's cheaper" - it's the same price, you're just paying it slower.
