Short answer: the iPad Air (M4) for most people, or the Galaxy Tab S11 if you are on Android and already own a Galaxy phone.

What buyers actually ask about tablets
Can a tablet replace a laptop? For reading, email, video and light document work, comfortably. For anything involving many windows, a specific desktop application, or a lot of typing without buying a keyboard case, not really. Most people who try the swap end up owning both, which is worth knowing before you spend.
Does the expensive one make sense for watching video? No. Screen quality on the cheaper models is more than sufficient for video, and the premium goes on processor power that matters for drawing, editing and heavy multitasking. If the tablet lives on the sofa, buy the cheap one and spend the difference elsewhere.
How long will it stay useful? Longer than a phone, because tablets are pushed far less hard. Software support is the limit rather than performance, and it is the specification worth checking before price.
Buying tablets in the UAE
Cellular versions cost noticeably more here and most buyers do not need one, because a phone hotspot covers the occasional trip. Storage is the other upsell: tablets are used for video and games more than phones are, so the smallest storage option fills faster than people expect and cannot usually be expanded.
